The Diligent Mr. Ullman & The Generous Ms. Negri

In my opinion, the Register of Actions for Rudolph Valentino's estate, is an extremely informational document. Obviously debts incurred tell a story. We have published the entire document in the Affairs Valentino Companions Guide but this page (see below) got me to thinking.

We see that four months after Valentino' death, his close friend and trusted business manager George Ullman was receiving and paying a lot of bills. The entries on January 7, 1927 are many... with one entry dominating the page for me. That would be the claim made to Pola Negri for $15,000. By today's exchange rate that would have been $225,000. Not a small piece of change.

Ostensibly, she loaned the money to Rudy for renovations on Falcon Lair. But when news broke she actually petitioned her deceased lover's estate for the loan repayment, Pola came under brutal attack by Rudy's fans. Pola came back with the defense that she only petitioned Ullman for the money to give it to Alberto Valentino so he could afford to bring his wife and son to Los Angeles. As we know this did not happen for quite some time.

But Pola did give Alberto the money and she loaned it to Rudy. She would later sign another loan for Alberto; one he would not repay in full. I think this speaks well of this woman's generosity. I guess a great deal can be said about Pola Negri, but it appears she was not cheap.

And we see on this page, George Ullman was hard at work wiping out Rudy's debt. And I have no doubt in January of 1927, he thought that was a realistic goal.

At the bottom of this page you can see the payments due to the Polyclinic Hospital doctors. Dr. Meeker did not come cheap charging $3500. Today that would be a bill of $52,000.

  1. What a headache this all must have been for George Ullman. Then to have to deal with Alberto's litigation and all the courtroom drama...

    1. That is so true. It is a shame all of these documents are not shared... being mostly censored by the "greater community" because I found the appeals copies. Everyone should see them. This is just one page of a twenty page document which began the moment Valentino's will was filed and did not end until the 1950's. It is very much relevant to the Valentino history and every time I read through it, I find new revelations.

    2. $ 15,000 is a lot of money to lend someone. She must have been trusting of Alberto to give him that amount.

  2. Sadly, this is another bogus document.

    1. 6:48: The Register of Actions is the one document that is on file in The Los Angeles County Hall of Records. So head over and have a look yourself. I have never altered or created a document. I have no reason to ever do so. Your comment is defamation. Makes me wonder how many documents the team has created as they seem absurdly focused on this. Nothing sad about this one at all... its still there.

    2. 6:48: An amazing accusation. You really believe I could make up 30 years of Valentino estate transactions?

    3. This is the real thing, why would Evelyn forge documents?

    4. Show this document to an expert, he or she would say it is authentic. Evelyn would be in trouble if she forged it.

    5. It is probably Terhune, yet another boring statement he has to make because he cannot face the truth.

    6. 5:51: Good point. This document is still on file so no need to verify. It has been housed in that facility for decades.

    7. 5:53, Mr. Terhune acknowledged he'd seen the court records in the hands of three different collectors. That is verification of their existence, so anyone wondering can contact him about that.

    8. Ms. Zumaya is fiendishly clever. Not only was she able to create the exact pages used in the Register of Actions, she also managed to guess just how much was owed by the Valentino estate to the petitioners, whose names she pulled out of thin air, changing her own handwriting so no one would be the wiser. Genius!

    9. 9:49: Maybe I should be flattered they think I could do that. And remember they accuse me of also creating the United Artists' contract (even those this same person attempted to take credit for discovering it?), of creating the Falcon Lair household records, all the banking of the estate, the Cosmic Arts book keeping, the will, and just about every thing else. They know I did no such thing and do this only to disturb and defame. But now I wonder if they are the experts at creating the documents. That is why the obsession with it.

    10. This is what the witless do when cornered. They make baseless and ridiculous accusations in order to deflect. The two sluggards, who insist they are not interested in Ms. Zumaya and claim they have "moved on," closely scan every jot and tittle on this blog in order to pounce and make foolish allegations. That's all they have going on in their lives, besides trying to get TRT's attention. It's impossible for them to "move on." Their lives stalled 20 years ago.

  3. Who do we know that is constantly accusing Evelyn of forging documents?
ShadyMa and now her spawn are constantly tantalizing us (lol) with their supposed upcoming big reveals based on documents that only Natacha's 'family' has access to.
Hey Ma & Offspring: Just stick to Evelyn's books for real documents.

    1. 9:01, interesting. The person who has spent so much time and energy failing to convince her world that I forged every single document we discovered, is now about to do a book based on exclusive "documents"? Sure.

    2. Actually, Ma's announced she's no longer up to the task of completing her magnum opus.
The Offspring has now been handed that responsibility. Offspring boasts that they "take joy in making Evelyn stew about what I have access too... which is a lot".

I'm sure we're all 'stewing' about this.
      Yawn.

    3. 1:22: Well, well sorry to disappoint them but no "stewing" going on here at all. They wish that were the case. I do know what they do not have and that is an ounce of integrity. Horrible people the way they have treated us for years. I have no time or interest and yes yawn.

    4. Re-reading 1:22: What kind of monsters take "joy" in upsetting people?

    5. They are monsters for the way they have treated Renato and Evelyn. In fact you could scarcely call them human.

    6. People like "Mum" & "Offspring" spend their lives talking about how they are going to be doing the next big thing. The reality is that these losers are jealous of people like the Floris who full & satisfying personal and professional lives.

    7. We included a list of Archives in The Case Files which stands as kind of the foot print of the research. There were no shortcuts and even though the haters like to mock how long it took me to write the books, it was what had to happen. And it is still happening to some degree. My theory is that bad people can not produce much good no matter how badly they want to. Their lack of spirit and sincerity seeps through in all cases.
