The Li Calzi Article

These two images (below)are scans from the originals housed in the Special Collections Department at USC in Los Angeles in the archive of Valentino biographer Irving Schulman. This is the text accompanying the image I posted on this blog on October 4th, "Mike Li Calzi Tells His Story". Li Calzi drove Valentino and Marion Benda from her apartment at 3 a.m. to the party at Barclay Warburton's on the night Valentino fell mortally ill.

I have a few more scans, including the account of the elevator operator.. from the Schulman file and will find them and share.

  1. Just one error by Tracy Terhune. Kodachrome is the brand name for a color reversal film introduced by Eastman Kodak in 1935. It was one of the first successful color materials and was used for both cinematography and still photography and was not “soon dismissed”. For many years Kodachrome was widely used for professional color photography, especially for images intended for publication in print media. I used that film till the late 80s in the 135 format, Kodachrome 25 ASA speed. Because of its complex processing requirements, the film was sold process-paid in the United States until 1954, when a legal ruling prohibited that. However, the arrangement continued in other markets. Due to the growth and popularity of alternative photographic materials, its complex processing requirements, and the widespread transition to digital photography, Kodachrome lost market share. Its manufacture was discontinued in 2009, and processing ended in December 2010. In early 2017, Kodak announced they were investigating the possibility of reintroducing Kodachrome, but later conceded that this was unlikely to happen. It's not necessary to make a hard research to know the history of the Kodachrome film as it is also available on Wikipedia from where I took part of my post. Study people, study!

But Terhune makes one more error in his post because he is posting on Evelyn's blog which he stole in 2012. As most of you know she closed the blog thinking it would be briefly and she did that out of fear when Bret threatened to attack her family members. This is when and how Terhune seized her Affairs Valentino blog and has run it to attack us and mock us for eight years now.He can post what he wants on his own blog and maybe under the title of his own book. But to post anything on that Affairs Valentino blog is bullying and involves us heavily and he knows that. He needs to stop running that blog and open one under his own name, the title of his own book and not involve us this way.
Last but not least if you are a serious biographer you must take with due attention the self-exalting diaries of anyone, even those of Lou Mahoney, if there are no serious confirmations of the facts they must be considered only beautiful but useless fairy tales.
