"Valentino's Wraith in the Background..."

From the Chicago Tribune, September 30, 1930, (see below); Beltran-Masses attempting to collect for his work which he claims was commissioned by Pola Negri. Collections seemed to have played a major role in Valentino's after-life. Natacha sued Mae Murray for bangles and clothing she ordered from her New York dress shop, Alberto was frantically attempting to collect here there and everywhere, Pola was attempting to collect money from Alberto and here Beltran-Masses appears to be doing his own collecting. 

It is not so surprising Pola Negri would try and stiff Masses and I wonder if he ever collected the full amount.
