On the Censorship of Our Work

The truth is not subjective when supported by documentation and facts. For fourteen years Renato and I shared a treasure trove of documentation to prove facts about the subject of Rudolph Valentino, Natacha Rambova, S. George Ullman, Frank Mennillo, Robert Florey, etc.

But the Valentino “mainstream” as they like to call themselves plugged their ears. And they went even farther to deny the truth be told. (banning even the mention of us on their two Facebook groups, Mad About the Boy and We Never Forget)

They censored, they lied and basically they panicked. In their continued efforts to silence us, we were portrayed as lunatics, criminals who forged documents, dottering senior citizens and described precisely how this hysterical “mainstream” behaved and behaves themselves. Renato and I were anything but. We were working hard every day, sharp as tacks, full of energy and inspired to find honest answers to our many questions... which we did!

Fortunately there are many in the world of Valentino who have questioning minds, who read our books for themselves, checked our citations, listened to our podcasts and learned some truth along the way. To them I say bravo, you are heroes!....again and again.

To those who decided it was not such a big deal and better to suck up to the “mainstreamers”? I say wake up. Your complicity is sad and embarassing. By supporting them, you support their behavior which has been proven by them year after year to be deplorable.

To censor, to shun, to taunt and harass is to bully. This is what they do. They are bullies by definition despite their ridiculous shrieking to the contrary. Their peep, peep, peepings that they are the victims is pathetic. "Mainstreamers"? I call them bullies, censors and liars.

I assure them no matter how distraught I am now as I grieve the loss of my great love, it will be for him that I will seek and have justice... “Fiat, Justitia Ruat Caelum” ! Below, Renato in 2014 when we visited Matera.

Renato Muses on He Who, "Throws the Stone and Hides the Hand"

Well I guess I could construct a transcript of this little banter with Renato. But if you listen to it a couple of times you will understand his lovable English. Love, love, love....

When Facts Are Called “Preposterous”

Once again, Eleanor Gribbin is on a roll—a roll of tired, slanderous claims I’ve heard for years.

And once again, her attacks come right on cue. As I post page after page of official court records verifying George Ullman’s integrity—his exoneration, his sworn testimony, and his courageous fight for the truth—Gribbin surfaces to smear him, parroting the same falsehoods.

She calls his recollections “wrong or false.” His memoir, “nasty.” His court-documented claims, “preposterous.”

Here’s what’s actually preposterous:

  • That she still denies court-verified testimony.

  • That Ullman’s legal victories are ignored.

  • That the very documents she once claimed did not exist are now online—and they’re livid.

George Ullman testified under oath. His words are recorded, and the legal outcomes speak for themselves. If Eleanor Gribbin wants to challenge his claims, she’ll have to do better than snide remarks in cult-controlled and censored forums and amateur character assassination.

It is not a “negative slant” to tell the truth.
It is not “wrong or false” to recount betrayal, censorship, and a man being used as a scapegoat.
What she and her master fear most is a public with access to these primary sources—because they have depended on silence and suppression for far too long.

So yes—I will continue.

I will continue to post every document. Every testimony. Every suppressed fact.
Because history deserves better. And Rudolph Valentino’s truth is documented.

It's Cultic Control

Once again it is the old “fiction, hearsay, innuendo, and guesswork” trope. Interesting how those most vocally accusing others of fabrication are often the ones feverishly deleting posts, gatekeeping discussion, and dictating how “Rudy” must be remembered. This is not scholarship—it’s cultic control.

If this so-called “Valentino Community” was genuinely scholarly, they wouldn’t fear open discourse or opposing viewpoints. They wouldn’t require members to remove posts because “it’s not the Rudy we want.” That’s not history—that’s propaganda.

We are not “ignored”—we are censored. And censorship, by nature, signals fear. Fear of facts. Fear of documents. Fear of legacy. Fear that someone, somewhere, might see Valentino as a real man with a complex life, not a manicured altar boy.

We’ve never claimed ownership of “Rudy.” But we won’t be erased by those who do.

I will soon be posting all of the sworn testimony by George Ullman, Alberto Valentino, Maria Strada, Lou Mahoney and more on @ https://rudolphvalentinodocuments.blogspot.com/

So stay tuned!

Correcting the Record

Correcting the Record: On the Translation of Jeanne de Recqueville’s Biography

Once again, I feel compelled to respond to defamatory and baseless accusations being circulated online about my work—and about Jeanne de Recqueville.

My husband Renato Floris translated Jeanne de Recqueville’s rare French biography of Rudolph Valentino into English. This book, long out of print and almost impossible to find, was treated with the utmost scholarly respect. The translation was done meticulously, and the edition we published was intended to honor de Recqueville’s work and make it accessible to a wider audience for the first time.

We did not “appropriate” the book. We cited the original author. We did not “steal” the cover. The image used on the cover was fully licensed and paid for. The fact that we chose the same pose of Valentino as de Recqueville’s original edition was a deliberate tribute—an homage to her contribution to Valentino scholarship, not an act of theft.

To those falsely claiming otherwise: the facts are available. And I stand by our work. That a group moderator would threaten removal of anyone who mentions our edition is not only petty—it’s a troubling act of censorship in what should be a community interested in historical truth.

The only “appropriation” here is the hijacking of a legacy—Jeanne de Recqueville’s, Renato’s, and mine—by those who seek to control the narrative through lies, threats, and silencing tactics.

Let the record stand corrected.

Some of the Contributions of Affairs Valentino

These are a few of things we contributed to the Valentino history... I will be adding to this but these are what comes to mind initially... for the record the following is but a partial list of the things we discovered:
  1. The fact the S. George Ullman was exonerated completely by the California' Court of Appeals, that the money he owed the estate was money Alberto Valentino already spent which Ullman dispersed to him believing he was a rightful heir.
  2. The entire story of Frank Mennillo and who he was..
  3. That Rudolph Valentino was paying the monthly mortgage on Teresa Werner's home on Sycamore Street in Los Angeles.
  4. That a second page of the will turned up missing which was, by the process of elimination, removed by Lou Mahoney.... Valentino was dead and Alberto was not yet in Los Angeles.
  5. The documentation of who George Ullman was, what happened to him as a result of the estate disaster.
  6. That Alberto Valentino claimed he lived in Turin... when there is no record he ever did.
  7. That the entire case file of Valentino's probate records was stolen
  8. That Ullman's Valentino archive was stolen from his garage and now those documents are appearing in collections which were purchased from the Bill Self estate.
  9. That those missing court records were in the possession of Valentino collectors and the Valentino family.
  10. That according to Alberto, Valentino tried to adopt his nephew Jean and failed.
  11. That Valentino owned and operated a research laboratory, Cosmic Arts and all the business details of that enterprise.
  12. That Natacha as the sole stock holder in Cosmic Arts, had control over Valentino's contracts.
  13. That Valentino walked into the Emergency Room in the Polyclinic Hospital.
  14. That Valentino's body was embalmed
  15. That his shipping case was still in existence.
  16. That Valentino smuggled Canadian whiskey into the US on the Mineralava Tour
  17. That Joe Schenck funded Alberto Valentino's litigation v. Ullman
  18. That the Valentino world is controlled by a vicious syndicate of liars/haters/bullies
  19. That the story of Valentino's life is manipulated by collectors
  20. That these collectors are willing to destroy people to elevate their status as collectors
  21. That Valentino was not gay
  22. That the entire Andre Daven as gay lover was a huge hoax and utterly false
  23. That Daven left New York owing Valentino a fortune/35,000 francs
  24. That Mennillo was Valentino's godfather
  25. That it was Valentino who sent Natacha Rambova away... forcing her to sign away her role in his business..
  26. That Ullman was an honest man.
  27. The details of the day Natacha left Los Angeles and that Rudolph sent her away, etc. the signing of the documents and what they were.
  28. That the Brothers Valentino had a rough relationship
I will leave it at 28 for this morning and continue with more as time goes on...
