Enough is Enough - Reposted

I realize there might be a certain honor in even having active haters who work every single day of their lives to try their hardest to bury us and our books forever. It goes with the territory it seems. 

If I had written some insignificant book on Valentino, they would have laughed it off and carried on. This did not happen because I wrote the truth, Affairs Valentino was and still is a book filled with great content which they will never be able to bury. 

It all could have been so different way back when, if they had embraced my new discoveries instead of spreading their false and malicious information about us and the books. 

But they have never made their roles in this a secret, being public about it year after year. 

No matter how much Valentino memorabilia they cram their life with, I am not impressed. All of the mocking tick-tocking to our deaths and years of posts as ageist cruelties, images of pigs, Satan and toilets, etc., designed to make us suffer, still ring loudly in my mind. Providing a platform to continue such evil ways of targeting us seems to be something some people can excuse. I will never excuse that awful behavior. 

Haters arrive when you reach a certain point of achievement imo and as offensive as they all are,  I will never be bullied into silence. 

Not a Repost

Its kind of sad in a way if you think about. The haters spending years and years trying to portray me as someone I am not. They tried to do the same with Renato...how sad for them. Its so pointless. Its like trying to say Michelangelo's Pietà is a piece of crap sculpture. No, actually its not.

They have thrown their shit at us for so long they must feel exhausted to even try and lob one more missile our way.

Perhaps they fancy me actually dead now. After all those looong years fantasizing about our deaths; i.e. tick tock tick tocking, etc... it must come naturally to them to think of me in a dead state. Death cultists would be prone to do something like that. But I am still alive and working hard.

I may be slowed down because of my grief to bear but it will all be done.

How very hard they try to make me just like them: dishonest, snarky, mean spirited, cruel, horribly insecure, insane, etc. They could try for a million years and still fail to convince a single person they speak a word of truth about me. The truth remains; they do not.

Not Much Has Changed It Seems (repost from July 7, 2020)

I respond:

It has come to my attention that Eleanor Gribbin posted on her Facebook group that my Valentino biography, Affairs Valentino is the "workings of a mad woman". In doing this, she participates in the defamatory lie that I am insane... waged against me by those trying to prevent people from reading my work. 

I dispute this 100% and say this statement is not made as an opinion as in "I think".. or "Perhaps"... but she makes this statement as fact which constitutes defamation. 

Those who have actually read my book, Affairs Valentino have had nothing but praise for the long and meticulous labor which was involved in its creation. 

I think all of our books are testament to my sanity which I do not have to defend. If anything Gribbin's calling me insane... says more about her than me. It is not a nice thing to do. And in these times, I find it highly offensive that she would use the subject of mental illness as a means to demean and bully someone. 

She might not like Affairs Valentino, she has that right of course... but as someone who claims an interest in Valentino she can certainly recognize the sources and the ground-breaking documentation, as well as the thorough testimonies of the Ullman and Mennillo families... as being definitive and solid.  

 Her calling me "mad" to deter a potential reader is now part of the collective body of evidence which stands as proof of a campaign to lie about me and our work and impede our legal right to do business in a fair way.  But as the saying goes... haters gonna hate... but when the hater is openly and quite publicly deterring our right to do business it becomes a different matter entirely. 

An Insecure Little Bastard Way to Treat a New Follower (repost)

A follower on the cult-run Facebook forum, Mad About the Boy, asked adminion Simon Constable about our publication of the Jeanne De Recqueville biography of Valentino which Renato translated and I edited. The exchange is excerpted below.

Here we document Constable deterring a new follower on Mad About the Boy from even mentioning our book at all. This when I believe anyone interested sincerely in Valentino should own and know De Recqueville's book. It is unique in many ways and has been cited as a source in every Valentino biography since its original publication. Renato made it available in English for the first time.

Constable bans any mention of the book and accuses the follower of “promoting” the book as if that/reading a book was a sin. This while demanding a thank-you for censoring reading material so someone can form their own opinion.

I post these two excerpts of the exchange about us and one of our books on Mad About the Boy, to document the cult censoring and as proof they are doing exactly what I claim. And to call them out for having zero real interest in Valentino. Valentino for the “Valentino Studies Community” is an ego-driven fantasy game... like fantasy football.

And here follows, Constable censoring some literature on Valentino (which is a defining aspect of cult behavior) to a new follower and threatening their deletion from the group. I share these two excerpts under Fair Use permission guidelines to illustrate my point in this narrative.
