Not a "Conflict" - A Defense

Eleanor Gribbin, administrator of the Valentino Facebook forum Mad About the Boy, recently described me as having a “long history of conflict" with the person I refer to as the, 'Cult Leader'.” Her phrasing is no accident.

This wasn’t conflict/a mutual dispute. It was a prolonged, calculated effort to discredit me, silence my work, and smear my name—all because I dared to speak truths which upset their control.

Ms. Gribbin's calling what I have been forced to endure for a decade, a “conflict” is a tactic: it implies equal footing, as if I was simply being “difficult.” I reject that entirely. I was not part of a feud—I was under attack. And I stood my ground. Below... I hold the line in Monaco, 2011.

It Matters

As much as Rudolph Valentino enjoyed success, he also fought a continual battle against an establishment determined to portray him as someone he was not. To diminish his immense popularity, he was demeaned, distorted, and mocked. And not so much has changed.

What disrespect continues to be shown to this much-maligned American and Italian icon—still today misrepresented and used as a puppet in false narratives.

His legacy is now held captive by self-appointed gatekeepers who censor his truth. They lie, harass, bully, and silence in order to maintain their myths. They have built empires on deception and waged campaigns of cruelty to uphold it.

What a travesty that the market in collecting his earthly possessions now seeks to possess his story as well. As if owning his objects grants them ownership of his soul. It is a deplorable situation.

Perhaps they believe truth can be buried. That it doesn’t matter. But that is pure delusion. Truth always matters. And truth always finds a way.

Giving Credit

I guess I should give credit where credit is due for the graphic used on my last Substack post. I wonder what he fears - imo I think "Simon says" aspires to unseat the current "cult leader". Desperation paired with teenage humor is not so appealing and I for one don't think his dream of standing at the pulpit next August 23rd will manifest. Sorry sad sack that he is for this kind of thing.
